Panko-Crusted Fish with Lemon Dill Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Fish:

  • 4 fish fillets (such as cod, tilapia, or haddock)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil (for frying)

For the Lemon Dill Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tbsp dried dill)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sauce:
In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, fresh dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. Set Up Breading Station:
In one bowl, place the flour mixed with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. In a second bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Bread the Fish:
Dredge each fish fillet in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess. Dip into the beaten eggs, then coat with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. Cook the Fish:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the breaded fish fillets. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Adjust the cooking time based on the thickness of the fillets.
  5. Serve:
Plate the crispy fish fillets and drizzle with the lemon dill sauce. Serve with lemon wedges and your choice of sides, like roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.
